Tap head

A tap head is a key element of any draught beer system. It is a small but important device that connects the gas and beer lines to the keg. The pressurised gas (either CO2 or nitrogen, depending on the type of beer) flows into the side of the tap via an air line and the beer flows out via a beer line attached to the top. Although all tap valves are similar in appearance and function, you need to make sure you have the right model for the keg you want to tap. Use the table below to determine which type of tap fits your favourite beer.
